PRIVACY POLICY AND DECLARATION OF CONSENT TO PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING UNDER ART. 13 OF EU REGULATION NO. 679/2016 OF 27 APRIL 2016

This policy is issued under art. 13 of Regulation EU 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and in respect of the regulations on personal data processing, as well as on the free movement of such data.

This policy refers to the METID – Learning Innovation website ("METID"), offered by Politecnico di Milano ("Polimi"). This privacy policy is for the METID website ("Website") and provides information to its users by electronic means and belongs to the metid.polimi.it domain.

Data supplied voluntarily by the user

The optional, express and voluntary sending of emails to the addresses indicated in this website implies the subsequent acquisition of the sender’s address, which is required to answer his/her requests, and any other personal data included in the message. Any personal data supplied voluntarily by users will be processed to execute the Politecnico di Milano – METID activities, subject to the limits laid down in laws and regulations and in accordance with the general principles of transparency, fairness and confidentiality.

Purpose of the personal data processing and data storage period

Personal data is processed according to all purposes related to design and delivery of METID website, that include purposes related to monitoring, analyzing and assessing the use of the website.

By using METID website, you consent to the processing of your data on the part of Google for the procedures and purposes indicated.

According to the terms of service in place, Google will use this information, as the independent data controller, for the purpose of tracking and examining your use of the website, compiling reports on the website’s activities for the website operators and providing other services relating to the website’s activities, device and browser used etc. and where visitors have come to METID website from. Google may also transfer this information to third parties in the event this is obligatory by law and where said third parties process the aforementioned information on behalf of Google. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.

Rights of data subjects

As a data subject, you can request at any time from the Data Controller:

  • confirmation of the existence or non-existence of personal data concerning you;

  • deletion of personal data concerning you (upon the occurrence of one of the conditions indicated in Art. 17, para. 1 of the Regulation and in compliance with the exceptions provided in para. 3 of the same article);
  • restriction of the processing of your personal data (in the occurrence of one of the cases indicated in Art. 18, para. 1 of the Regulation);
  • anonymization or blocking of data processed in violation of the law, including those for which retention is not necessary in relation to the purposes for which the data were collected or subsequently processed.

As a data subject, you also have the right to object, in whole or in part, for legitimate reasons, to the processing of personal data concerning you, even if pertinent to the purpose of collection.

If you believe that your rights have been violated by the Data Controller and/or a third party, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority and/or another competent supervisory authority under the Regulation.
