Our role

METID is the Task Force of the Politecnico di Milano dedicated to educational innovation, a point of reference for the development and transformation of teaching and learning processes within the University. We operate with the aim of accompanying the changing education in a conscious, systemic and sustainable way, bringing together pedagogical research, digital technologies and institutional strategic vision.

We design, test and disseminate models, tools and learning environments capable of responding to contemporary challenges in higher education. We work to ensure that innovation is not just the introduction of new technologies, but the evolution of teaching practices, course design and the overall experience of students and teachers.

Through an integrated approach, we combine Pedagogical dimension, technological infrastructure and strategic orientation, It contributes to building a training ecosystem in which classroom and digital, presence and online, experimentation and quality can coexist coherently. In this way, METID supports the Politecnico di Milano in enhancing an increasingly effective, inclusive and future-oriented didactics.

Learning innovation

We design and develop innovative teaching methodologies to support effective training development. With the Smart Learning Design we guide the design of courses that harmoniously integrate all dimensions of teaching: online, in-presence, synchronous and asynchronous.

MOOCs and Podcasts

We design and implement MOOCs and podcasts with an integrated approach combining methodological and technological aspects. Development and management of POK - Polimi Open Knowledge, the MOOC portal of the Politecnico di Milano.
New technologies

Artificial Intelligence 4 Education

We put our expertise in Artificial Intelligence at the service of conscious adoption in learning processes. With the concepts of AIBOOK, AIMOOK and AIDO we explore new frontiers in integrating AI into education, offering more personalised, interactive and effective learning experiences.
Training courses

Teacher and student training

We promote the development of innovative teaching at the Politecnico di Milano through training courses for teachers and students, consulting on advanced teaching methodologies and support in the design, implementation and monitoring phases of training activities.

Open Education

We promote Open Educational Resources and open education practices, contributing to the spread of a culture of sharing and innovation nationally and internationally.
