POK - Polimi Open Knowledge
POK - Polimi Open Knowledge is the MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) platform of the Politecnico di Milano. The proposed online courses aim to support students in key career transitions, promote innovation in teaching and disseminate knowledge for conscious citizenship.
METID manages POK - Polimi Open Knowledge, the MOOC platform of the Politecnico di Milano, and the design and realisation of all the courses delivered within it, supporting lecturers and content experts at all stages of the process, from course design to production.
POK (Polimi Open Knowledge), launched in June 2014, is the MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) portal of the Politecnico di Milano offering free online courses open to all. The main objective of the portal is supporting students, not only from the Politecnico di Milano, in one's university and professional career: from high school to university, from a Bachelor's degree to a Master's degree, from university to the world of work. There are also many other courses for teachers, researchers, professionals and citizens. The MOOCs available are produced both by the Politecnico di Milano and by other universities and bodies/institutions. Within the platform, in fact, courses that are part of the Edvance project, the first Digital Education Hub for higher education dedicated to advanced digital culture. These courses, realised by the 17 universities and AFAMs involved in the project, are mainly aimed at university students who wish to deepen their knowledge through high-quality MOOCs, with a focus on advanced digital skills such as data literacy, artificial intelligence and digital sustainability. MOOCS can also be followed by professionals and workers in search of technical and transversal skills, thanks to an up-to-date training offer aligned to the needs of the labour market, developed in cooperation with the business world.
The contents of MOOCs on the platform also extend to lecturers and educational technologists, offering training in methods and tools for digital and blended education, with a focus on artificial intelligence and open education. POK is designed for all those who want to invest in lifelong learning, providing an accessible and innovative digital ecosystem, enriched by microcredentials and open badges, to ensure the expendability of skills in the professional and curricular spheres.
